报告题目:Polymer based bicontinuous structural electrolytes optimization for higher modulus and higher ionic conductivity

Structural electrolyte refers to a multifunctional bi-phase matrix employed in structural battery composites which is a novel type of composite material that integrate energy storage with load-bearing capabilities. It is a dual-functional structural matrix that serves for both load transferring and ionic transport pathways. Structural electrolyte consists of bicontinuous phases in which one is supporting thermoset skeletal with high mechanical strength whilst the other is ionic conductive phase with high conductivity. Multifunctionality of structural electrolytes lies in both the mechanical properties of the supporting phase and conductivity of ionic transport phase, with one competing with the other. Simultaneous enhancement of the two functions is key for the development of structural electrolytes. High performance bicontinuous structural electrolytes with excellent ionic conductivity and surpassing mechanical properties are achieved through microscopic structure design and validated in structural battery composites.
报告人简介:
Qin Lei is an associate professor at School of Aerospace Engineering in Beijing Institute of Technology since 2023. She graduated as DPhil from University of Oxford in materials in 2016 and worked as senior engineer of aerospace materials in China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology from 2016 to 2023 specializing in resin-based fiber reinforcing composite for aerodynamic structures, extreme environment and electromagnetic functions. Major publication and patents revolving engineering advancement of carbon fiber reinforced composites with multifunctional capabilities on Composites Part B, Composites Science and Technology, Advanced Composites and Hybrid Materials etc..
