报告简介:

Dr. Katsumi YOSHIDA is a professor at Laboratory for Zero-Carbon Energy, Institute of Integrated Research, Institute of Science Tokyo, Japan. He received Doctor of Engineering from Tokyo Institute of Technology in 2001, which was merged into Institute of Science Tokyo on October 1, 2024.

His current research interests are development of severe environment resistant ceramics for aerospace industry and nuclear and fusion applications, highly reliable advanced ceramic-based composites, advanced ceramics contributing to carbon neutral society, engineering ceramics and porous ceramics. He was awarded the 50th Dr. Nagai Memorial Incentive Award (the Society of Inorganic Materials, Japan) in 2009, the 63th Ceramic Society of Japan Awards for Advancements in Ceramic Science and Technology in 2009, the International Exchange Incentive Award (the Ceramic Society of Japan) in 2012, Journal of the Ceramic Society of Japan, the Editor-in-Chief Award of Distinguished Reviewer in 2015, and The CerSJ Fellow Awards (the Ceramic Society of Japan) in 2025.


报告人简介:

Ceramic matrix composites (CMC) have attracted attention as highly reliable heat-resistant materials because they overcome the brittleness of ceramics and showed excellent fracture resistance and damage tolerance. In particular, silicon carbide (SiC)-based fiber-reinforced composites have been recognized as key materials for aerospace, future nuclear and fusion fields as next-generation heat resistant structural materials, and they have been being studied and developed. In this lecture, the fundamentals, properties, fabrication process and interfacial properties of CMC (especially SiC-based CMC) will be reviewed including our research activities on CMC.
