报告题目:Generation and applications of structured light beams
报告简介:
A structured light beam is characterized by its spatially distributed amplitude, phase, and polarization on the beam cross-section. Spatially varying features of these parameters produce remarkable abilities that cannot be attained by conventional light beams such as linearly or circularly polarized Gaussian beams. During the last two or three decades, various remarkable features have been discovered in structured light beams such as cylindrical vector beams including radially or azimuthally polarized beams, Bessel beams, Airy beams, and other unconventional beams. These discoveries have led to the development of many promising applications exploiting structured light, such as optical trapping, imaging, laser processing, and quantum communications. In this talk, we present our recent research activities on structured light and its application to advanced imaging techniques and laser micro/nano processing utilizing its peculiar features arising from the “structure” of a light beam.
报告人简介:
Yuichi Kozawa received a Ph.D. degree in Engineering from Tohoku University, Japan, in 2008. In 2008, he joined the Institute of Multidisciplinary Research for Advanced Materials (IMRAM), Tohoku University as an assistant professor and has worked as an associate professor since 2016. In 2024, he became a professor of IMRAM. His work focuses on controlling the spatiotemporal structure of amplitude, phase, and polarization of light waves including laser beams to apply to various areas such as optical trapping, optical imaging, and laser processing. He is a member of Optica, the Japan Society of Applied Physics (JSAP), the Optical Society of Japan (OSJ), and the Laser Society of Japan (LSJ).
